Board Members

  • Kathy Hendrickson (she/her)

    has spent her career blending the arts, education, and community engagement, striving to make creative spaces more inclusive and impactful. From serving as Dean of Fine Arts, Languages, and Global and Cultural Studies to stepping in as Interim Director of Community Impact at North Hennepin Community College and even founding the Jersey City Children's Theater, her work has been all about strategic planning, program development, and fostering meaningful connections. Kathy spent over 20 years in New York working as an actor and director, most notably assisting director Mike Nichols on Emmy Award-winning Wit and Angels in America for HBO Films, The Seagull for The Public Theatre (Shakespeare in the Park), and the TONY Award-winning revival of Death of a Salesman on Broadway. Passionate about culturally responsible initiatives, she launched the Stages of Equity Festival at North Hennepin Community College to create more inclusive academic and artistic spaces for the campus and greater Twin Cities North Metro communities.

  • Ryan McCanna (she/her)

    serves as the Sustainability Chair and Business Media Administrator and is a well reputed Costume Designer in the Twin Cities metro area. Specialities include local micro-fundraising, community relationship building, and process organizing. Ryan has been a long-time youth participant and then leader on numerous civic fronts, including the city ambassador organization. She believes theater is a unique and ancient ritual that brings community together around a common story, a common struggle. Being a part of this process excites her soul. She has been a MFT champion for over 10 years both onstage and backstage. From managing props for shows in high school to being a board member today, she feels fortunate to be part of the organization’s transformation. As a young professional artist, Ryan is proud to give back to the community that raised her.

  • Carter Quinn Tanis (they/them)

    is a Minneapolis based music-theater composer, lyricist, educator, and performer. A recent graduate from the Writing and Design for Musical Theater master’s program BerkleeNYC, Carter-Quinn has performed as a singer/songwriter, and has had their original musical, “Take A Quack At It” premier at the National Taichung Theater in Taiwan. Beyond creating captivating narratives, Carter-Quinn's mission is to lead with kindness and compassion, shaping the next generation of music-theater performers, writers, and advocates. Carter-Quinn is thrilled to be on the Board of Directors of Maggie’s Farm, eager to bring inspiring and community-driven theater to the St. Louis Park and Metro-Area. carterquinntanis.com

  • Brad Richardson (he/him)

    is a co-founder of Maggie’s Farm and has been involved in every production, contributing to acting, directing, sound, lighting, and set design. Like many, he began in high school with fall plays and spring musicals. College was much the same, only way more technical and competitive. Brad finished his formal training as a grad student at the University of Arizona, where he met the Farm’s Executive director, Rachel Villa. Professionally, Brad was a Company member of The New Harmony Theater in New Harmony Indiana for two years. And while in Indiana he also directed for the Southern Indiana University’s Drama Department and at the Alhambra Theater. In the Twin Cities, Brad spent eight seasons at The Children’s Theater Company as a equity Stage Manager and followed that with a sixteen year stint at Edelman Productions as an editor and sound Engineer. Brad is looking forward to Maggie’s Farm 2.0 that’s just around the corner!

  • Mark Schwartz (he/him)

    supports The Farm as the Board Secretary and Treasurer. As a retired Administrative Law Judge in Minneapolis. Mark brings a strong sense of integrity, compliance oversight, perspective & organizational skills. He also extends his expert business management abilities with the company. Mark enjoys experiencing new worlds and ideas, as well as being entertained. He is focused on bringing  MFT to life. He is a life-long community leader and has served numerous years on civic councils and advisory boards in St. Louis Park.

  • Rachel Villa (she/her)

    is a co-founder and serves as Executive Director for The Farm. Her career spans a wide range building a variety of strengths in directing, operations, management and entrepreneurial leadership. During Maggie’s origin years, she directed the main stage shows including Foxfire, Skin of Our Teeth, and True West. The Farm was regarded as a creative playground where artists could feed the soul and brighten the spirit. Rachel has a long history as a film accountant primarily in the Los Angeles and Minneapolis areas. Twin Cities projects include the Robert Altman film, A Prairie Home Companion, and the Coen Brothers film, A Serious Man. She spent nearly 13 years with Best Buy at the leadership level for the Communication/Public Affairs department, Social Impact team and the corporate foundation, managing financial operations. As an entrepreneur, she recently launched a professional home organizing company. As a community member, volunteering remains a lifelong passion.
