Maggie’s Farm Theater, located in the heart of St. Louis Park, is coming out of an extended hiatus and is ready once again to welcome audiences of all ages as a professional West Metro theater contributing to the theatrical ecosystem with Artistic Excellence, Sustainability and Service to Community as its guiding pillars.

Maggie’s Farm Theater cultivates excellent and relevant theater, storytelling, and music because we believe nothing can entertain, illuminate, and stir audiences like live performing arts.

Our intimate 48-seat jewel-box theater brings professional performers and live audiences together for heightened and immersive experiences.

Maggie’s Farm Theater is a multigenerational, inclusive performing arts company synergistically cultivating three crops: fostering artistic excellence, producing relevant and dynamic material, and serving the communities of St. Louis Park and the greater Twin Cities metro.

A Brief History

2009

  • Maggie’s Farm Theater co-founded by Brad Richardson and Rachel Villa

  • MFT started serving the community in 2009 with one annual production 

  • St. Louis Arts Council - Friends of the Arts - serves as the fiscal agent

2013

  • Launched partnership with Lenox Community Center/SLP Community Education/School District

2013 - 2018

  • Moved out of the Lenox Gymnasium and into the Lenox Little Theater

  • Strengthened local and industry connections

  • Produce full seasons with a variety of offerings and access points:

    • Full-length plays centered on the American family: adult audiences

    • Live Radio Theater: all ages

    • Books Alive! Readers Theater: multi-generational local touring troupe

    • Script Readings: held at the local public library

    • Cultural and Teen Music Nights: all ages

2020 - 2025

  • Covid 19 pandemic hiatus

2021

  • Established Maggie’s Farm as a 501c3 entity

  • Shared leadership model: Executive Director and Artistic Director

2025

  • Raising the Barn

  • Reemerges to be a small professional theater equipped to contribute to the Twin Cities theatrical landscape through artistic excellence and creative storytelling
